Next up on the healthier hot dog agenda: these ridiculously simple, so-basic-you-don’t-need-a-recipe spicy pineapple veggie dogs! The only toppings are diced fresh pineapple, finely diced red onion and pickled jalapeño peppers.
You could also throw some light mayo on there for a hit of creaminess if you want, but I didn’t feel the need at the time I made these.
The timing of this post is funny (not to mention a tad hypocritical) because tonight I’ll be scarfing all-you-can-eat hot dogs at the Jays game in Toronto. It’s a work thing and the tickets come with food, so I can’t not. Right? :) BUT if I could smuggle in fresh pineapple, I totally would.
